Straight Butter(fly)

Adam Wardzinski shared some of his butterfly guard wizardry with us recently, and it was a true honor to have him on the Estilo Jiu Jitsu mats sharing his battle-tested knowledge. Seminars are such a great way to be introduced to high-level practitioners and game-changing details, and this was no exception.

Adam is a Polish grappler and black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Alan “Finfou” do Nascimento, and widely regarded as one of the top heavyweight competitors of his generation. A Pan American and European black belt champion, he has lead a resurgence in the popularity of butterfly guard as an effective position for sweeps and submissions, a position that has not seen such a high-level specialist since the GOAT Marcelo Garcia.
